Job Summary

H+H is proud to partner with John Hancock and the City of Boston this summer as a participant in the MLK Summer Scholars program. This program provides over 650 Boston teens with on-the-job training in corporate and non-profit environments in addition to skill-based workshops in personal finance, civic engagement, leadership, and responsibility. The MLK Scholar at H+H will work within the Education, Community Engagement, Development, Box Office, and Marketing departments, gaining broad exposure to the organization and nonprofit operations. Projects may include implementing an education program recruitment campaign, identifying potential community partners, fulfilling subscription orders, and donor prospect research.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time position running July 7 through August 22, 2014.

The MLK Scholar will be paid $9/hour and will work at least 20.5 hours per week; 20.5 hours working at H+H Tuesday-Thursday and additional paid hours attending three required Friday morning seminars at Agganis Arena at Boston University on July 18, August 1, and August 15.

H+H’s administrative offices are located across the street from Symphony Hall at 300 Massachusetts Ave, Boston with convenient access to multiple T stops and bus routes.


The position is open to residents of Boston who are at least 16 years old and have just completed their sophomore, junior, or senior year in high school.
