

Christine Duncan, mezzo-soprano, graduated in May 2005 from Connecticut College as a music major with a concentration in vocal performance (studies with Roxane Althouse.) In 2004, she received an internship in Madrid to sing and direct two community choruses as part of the Center for International Studies and Liberal Arts certificate program. Originally from Pepperell, Massachusetts, Christine was a Youth Chorus and Young Women's Chorus member from 1994-2001 and graduated from the Parker Charter School. She was a member of VAP High School Soloists for four years as a voice student of Janice Giampa, NEC Youth Chorale, vocal chamber music, and piano with Tish Kilgore. Ms. Duncan received the 2001 Vocal Apprenticeship Award, later re-named in memory of Candace MacMillen Achtmeyer. She will be a voice major in the master's program at Longy School of Music this fall. Christine was a Development Assistant for the Society during 2006-2007 and traveled throughout Europe this past summer, singing with the Village Harmony Choir.
