Join us for the fourth First Night Jubilee Day Concert, a celebratory afternoon of music and storytelling on the anniversary of President Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation.

Scott Allen Jarrett leads members of the H+H Chorus in historic choral selections, including the “Hallelujah” chorus, sung to celebrate the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic”, written by Julia Ward Howe, who sang with H+H.

Discover Boston’s role in this historic event and the part H+H played during Jubilee Celebrations on January 1, 1863.

Presented in partnership with the Museum of African American History.
