Saul: Oct 3 + 5 at symphony hall
There are so many reasons I’m genuinely thrilled about this concert. The score is absolutely electric, full of energy from start to finish with hardly a moment to catch your breath. Combine that with the intense drama of Saul, a story packed with everything from witches to javelin throwing, and you’ve got a truly gripping experience. With the H+H Orchestra, Chorus, five soloists, and CitySing participants all sharing the stage, this will be an epic tale told on an epic scale.
Baroque christmas: DEc 18 + 21 at nec's jordan hall
This holiday concert is truly a family affair—literally! With works by J.S. Bach and his cousin J.L. Bach on the program, I’m excited to hear how the H+H Orchestra and Chorus bring out the unique voices of each, while also revealing the musical threads that connect them.
bach + telemann: may 15 + 16 at Old South Church + Sanders Theatre
Personally, I don’t think I’ve ever come across a Telemann piece I didn’t enjoy. Du aber Daniel gehe hin is such a magnificent work for so many reasons, but what excites me most is hearing how the H+H Orchestra will bring Telemann’s rich musical textures to life. It’s the kind of piece that draws you in, sparks your imagination, and makes you want to tap your foot along.
Voices carry: may 29 + 31 at nec's jordan hall
I was musically trained as a chorister and vocalist, so I’m especially excited to hear the H+H Chorus take the spotlight in this program. I’ve always had a deep love for Brahms, and the opening chords of Warum ist das Licht gegeben are permanently etched in my heart—they’re so powerful. I can’t wait to experience the full emotional weight of this piece brought to life by the incredible voices of the H+H Chorus.
