Alto Miranda Loud

Miranda Loud

Miranda Loud sings as a mezzo with the Handel and Haydn Society and has been a soloist with a variety of chamber groups and orchestras in Boston and around the country. Originally trained as an organist at Eastman School of Music, she has also performed organ recitals and been music director at churches in New York City, San Francisco and in the Boston area. She was a semi-finalist in the international Chartres organ competition and is currently music director at First Parish in Lincoln, MA. In addition, she is a visual artist working in oils and watercolors and enjoys teaching sketchbooking to high school teachers. For ten years she created The One Language Project to build empathy for other species through filming, editing and touring with over 50 short films about bees, elephants, dogs and other animals. She views music as a healing art, not only for the listener but for the singer. Being part of the chorus in the Handel and Haydn Society is sustaining and energizing for the other artwork she pursues.
