Nathan Halbur is a bass-baritone and composer with eclectic artistic interests. Highlights include performing semi-improvised opera with Esperanza Spalding in the world premiere of Wayne Shorter’s …(IPHIGENIA); voicing Dr. Seuss’s Grinch for the Boston Pops; numerous Bach solos with Emmanuel Music; and myriad performances with the Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Baroque, Skylark, Ensemble Altera, Enigma Chamber Opera, and many more. Nathan has led innovative experiments in improvisation, from the multimedia experience PHOTOPLAY at The Brattle Theatre, to Nightingale Vocal Ensemble's album COMPOSITION SPED UP. His band DREAMGLOW blends vocal harmony and percussion to whimsically explore intersections of classical music with other genres and art forms.
