Concert Choir

"The teachers are amazing and they balance fun with learning very well." — HHYC Singer
Concert Choir (grades 6-10) is for singers who demonstrate the maturity, interest, and musical skills to study and perform advanced level choral music. The ensemble regularly collaborates on performances with the H+H Orchestra and Chorus, including the annual Every Voice concerts directed by Reginald Mobley. Concert Choir was selected to perform for the March 2020 American Choral Directors Association Eastern Conference in Rochester, NY, and returns to NEC’s Jordan Hall for performances on the H+H subscription series in March 2024. All singers in Concert Choir also sing in Youth Chorale.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals for Concert Choir are on Saturdays at 12:30pm-1:30pm, following Youth Chorale rehearsal. All Concert Choir singers also sing with Youth Chorale and have a weekly musicianship class. Three levels of musicianship classes are offered for Concert Choir singers. The HHYC season lasts from September to May. Rehearsals and classes take place at United Parish in Brookline.
