Fair and competitive compensation for our musicians’ dedication and artistry will allow H+H to fill our stage with the best in historically informed performance. You Are the Music will also fund new opportunities for musicians to be creatively challenged and fulfilled, including a more dynamic range of programming and greater support for artists from historically marginalized backgrounds through a first-in-the-nation fellowship for period musicians of color.

You Are the Music will support artistic, outreach, and education programs that enable a younger, broader, and more diverse audience to discover the joys of Baroque and Classical music. The magic of H+H deserves to be shared as widely as possible. Whether because of financial barriers or a simple lack of familiarity, too many people miss the opportunity to be enriched by this timeless art. You Are the Music will change that. The campaign will support efforts to introduce a younger and more diverse audience to the passion and power of historically informed performance. By doubling down on our music education programs, we’ll set even more young people on the path to a lifetime of appreciation for Baroque and Classical music. Current-use funds raised through You Are the Music will support a robust marketing, outreach, and awareness strategy to engage new audiences. Increased support for subsidized tickets will ensure that concertgoers outside of H+H’s traditional demographic can easily access these performances. The campaign will also allow us to continue our highly successful music education initiatives in Boston schools by enhancing and enriching those programs, which offer life-changing opportunities for young singers to learn and grow through music.

As the most ambitious fundraising effort in our history, You Are the Music will more than double our endowment while providing essential operating support to ensure that H+H can continue to build on the growth achieved through the campaign.
