Praised for her “soulful singing,” mezzo soprano Catherine Hedberg is a concert soloist and ensemble musician based in New York City and Boston. With the Handel and Haydn Society, she has appeared as a soloist in works including Bach’s B Minor Mass, Magnificat and cantatas. Other recent highlights include Duruflé’s Requiem (Central City Chorus), Rossini’s Petite Messe Solonnelle (Dalton Chorale), the Festival Musique en l’Ile in Paris, and a performance of excerpts from Nathan Davis’ dance opera Hagoromo with the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE). Catherine has been a soloist with organizations including Cantata Singers, Boston Camerata, Newport Baroque Orchestra, Handel Society at Dartmouth College, Berkshire Choral Society, Nashua Symphony Choral Society, and Musicians of the Old Post Road, including a recording of Christmas music from Spain and Mexico. On the recital stage, Catherine’s favorite works include song repertoire from Spain and the Americas, which she has performed in New York, Boston, and Spain.
