Over the last year, H+H musicians performed solo and chamber works from their homes, continuing to bring music into your homes from a distance.

Reginald Mobley Appointed as Programming Consultant

Countertenor Reginald Mobley was appointed H+H’s first Programming Consultant, working to expand H+H's repertoire to include more composers of color and to reach a broader audience across Greater Boston.

Harry Christophers Extends Contract

In response to the COVID-19 crisis and resulting cancellation of H+H's 2020-21 Season, Artistic Director Harry Christophers extended his contract as Artistic Director through the 2021-22 Season.

HHYC New Voices Virtual Summer Concert

New Voices, the youngest of the H+H Youth Choruses, joined the TiTi Ta Children's Choir from Popayan, Colombia to virtually perform songs inspired by nature - crossing continents and building bridges with our new friends in Colombia.

The Society Ball: A Virtual Soirée

Although plans for an in-person gala, The Society Ball, were canceled due to COVID-19, the party went on virtually as patrons joined from their homes and enjoyed special performances by H+H musicians.

Streaming Concerts

H+H's first virtual concert series began with The Magic of Bach, bringing beautiful music with the H+H spirit back into your homes.

Every Voice Community Concert

H+H's annual Every Voice concert, usually held at First Church in Roxbury, turned virtual this past year. This year’s concert celebrated female composers – including queer women and women of color – in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment.

Handel's Messiah for Our Time

In collaboration with GBH, H+H performed Handel's masterpiece, Messiah, for a special televised and streaming performance. In a year when people needed comfort more than ever, GBH and H+H joined forces to bring alive this beloved holiday tradition - H+H’s 167th consecutive year performing Handel’s masterpiece.

Dr. Anthony Trecek-King Appointed as New Resident Conductor of the H+H Chorus

Dr. Anthony Trecek-King joins H+H as Resident Conductor of the Handel and Haydn Society Chorus. Working with Scott Allen Jarrett and Artistic Director Harry Christophers, Dr. Trecek-King will assist in building the H+H Chorus through recruitment, auditions, preparation, and concerts as we near the end of this season and prepare for the 2021-22 season.
