Colin Campbell
TENOR
Praised for his “powerful tenor voice and his scruff” (The Theatre Times), Colin Campbell is a Boston-based tenor recognized for his expressive artistry, stylistic versatility, and compelling stage presence.
A frequent collaborator with the Handel and Haydn Society since 2019, Mr. Campbell had his solo debut with H+H during the 2024-25 season in Crossing the Deep at Jordan Hall, conducted by Anthony Trecek-King.
Colin has performed across many of the Northeast’s most prestigious stages, including Boston Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. With H+H, he has appeared in a range of choral-orchestral works spanning the Baroque to the Romantic eras, bringing nuance and clarity to historically informed performances.
Recent highlights include his company and role debut as Tito in La clemenza di Tito with the Trentino Music Festival in Mezzano, Italy, and his portrayal of Alfred in Die Fledermaus with MassOpera, where The Theatre Times praised his “perfect comedic timing.” He also appeared in Odyssey Opera’s East Coast premiere of Tobias Picker’s Awakenings and has performed with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Seagle Music Colony, and the Oregon Bach Festival.
Equally at home in opera, oratorio, and contemporary works, Mr. Campbell has premiered new compositions such as Herschel Garfein’s Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead and continues to explore diverse repertoire on stage and in concert.
Mr. Campbell holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Music Instruction and Mathematics from Southern Oregon University and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance, as well as a Performance Studies Certificate, from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, where he studied with Kevin Wilson. colinthomascampbell.com
